I was just listening to the Watchmen episode of the Cinematic Universe podcast. It’s a good podcast in general, and this episode is a great discussion of an interesting but highly problematic film.
I had not realized that at one point in the very troubled pre-history of the film’s production, Terry Gilliam was attached to direct. While I understand that a lot of people think Gilliam and his stuff are fantastic, but I do not happen to be one of those people. I can only imagine what a terrible experience his version of Watchmen would have been.
